The friendly, intended to be a closed-door affair, was played in three 30-minute periods. Details of the match, including the scoreline, were leaked on social media when a Luzern youth player shared clips on TikTok, according to reports from Swiss media outlet Blick. The videos, featuring prominent players like Alisha Lehmann of Juventus, garnered significant attention before being removed. Lehmann, a highly popular figure in women's football, has a substantial following of nearly 17 million on Instagram.

This isn't the first time the Swiss team has engaged in matches against youth teams as part of their Euro 2025 preparations. In previous matches at their training camp, they lost 2-1 to FC Solothurn's U-15 side but managed a narrow 2-1 victory against FC Biel's U-15s.

The Swiss Football Association has attempted to downplay the significance of the recent defeat. Spokesperson Sven Micosse stated, “It’s not uncommon in women’s football to compete against junior teams. The goal is to bring a certain competitive element. The focus during this phase of preparation is on the physical aspect. Regardless of the result, these training matches are very similar to our international matches in terms of intensity and mileage.”

Switzerland, as the host nation, has automatically qualified for Euro 2025. They are scheduled to play a formal friendly against Czechia on Thursday, leading up to their tournament opener against Norway on July 2.
