Suryakumar Yadav Successfully Undergoes Sports Hernia Surgery
Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has successfully undergone surgery to repair a sports hernia. The procedure took place in Munich, Germany, and the star cricketer is now focused on recovery.
Yadav, 34, last represented India in the T20I series against England in February. He shared an update regarding his surgery and recovery via social media, expressing his eagerness to return to the cricket field.
In his social media post, Suryakumar confirmed the details of the surgery, stating that it addressed a sports hernia in his lower right abdomen. He added, "Grateful to share that after a smooth surgery, I'm already on the road to recovery. Can't wait to be back."
The surgery follows Suryakumar Yadav's notable performance in the recent Indian Premier League (IPL). Representing the Mumbai Indians, he displayed remarkable batting prowess. He amassed an impressive 717 runs in 16 innings, solidifying his place as the tournament's second-highest run-scorer.
His most recent international appearance was during India's five-match T20I series against England, which concluded in early February. The timing of his surgery and subsequent recovery aligns with India's current five-match Test series against England.
