Cristiano Ronaldo has silenced transfer speculation by signing a two-year contract extension with Al Nassr, ensuring his presence at the Saudi Arabian club until 2027. The announcement, made on Thursday, follows months of rumors surrounding the superstar's future.

The 40-year-old icon reaffirmed his dedication in a video released by the team, declaring, "Al Nassr forever."
Ronaldo's move to Al Nassr in 2023 triggered a wave of established players venturing to Saudi Arabia in the twilight of their careers.
Speculation arose when Ronaldo posted "This chapter is over" after Al Nassr's third-place finish in the Saudi Pro League, a season devoid of silverware.
According to a source from the Public Investment Fund (PIF) speaking to AFP, "Ronaldo's presence is a key factor in developing the Saudi league in the last two years and a half. He opens the door for elite and young players to come to Saudi Arabia."
The Saudi PIF, which manages the nation's sovereign wealth fund, oversees several Pro League clubs, including Al Nassr, Al Hilal, and Al Ahli.
The extension news arrives after Brazilian star Neymar's departure from Al Hilal in January. Neymar's short 18-month spell involved only seven appearances, despite a reported annual salary of $104 million.
Despite leading the league with 25 goals, Ronaldo has yet to capture a Saudi or continental title with Al Nassr. The team recently suffered defeat in the Asian Champions League semi-finals.
The five-time Ballon d'Or victor had previously hinted at the possibility of concluding his illustrious career with Al Nassr, a team favored among Saudi royals.
Saudi Arabia has revolutionized its football scene through substantial investments in European talent, commencing with Ronaldo's transfer in late 2022. The nation is also poised to host the 2034 World Cup.
Saudi football fans have enjoyed watching distinguished players like Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, who collectively boast six Ballons d'Or, during regular league matches.
Some observers have drawn comparisons between the Saudi Pro League and the Chinese Super League, which previously lured players with lucrative salaries before encountering financial difficulties.
The Saudi Pro League's advancement aligns with the country's broader ambitions of evolving into a tourism and business hub before global oil demand diminishes.
Ronaldo initially joined Al Nassr two years ago in a deal reportedly worth $250 million, marking a significant shift in his career path to Saudi Arabian football.
