Smriti Mandhana has cemented her legacy in cricket history, becoming the first Indian woman to achieve centuries in all three international formats: Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.
The historic moment occurred during the first T20I match between India Women and England Women at Trent Bridge. Mandhana delivered a remarkable innings, scoring 112 runs from just 62 balls.
As captain, Mandhana led from the front, demonstrating a dominant performance that included 15 fours and three impressive sixes. Her aggressive, yet composed innings helped India reach a total of 210/5 in 20 overs – their highest-ever T20I score against England.
This century also marks Mandhana's first in T20Is, completing a rare feat that no other Indian woman batter has achieved. She set the tone early, blending elegance with power, and effectively countered England’s leading spinners, such as Sophie Ecclestone, with fearless strokeplay.
The innings also featured valuable contributions from Harleen Deol, who scored 43 off 23 balls, and Deepti Sharma, who remained not out with 7 runs off 3 balls. India maintained a strong run rate throughout the innings. Lauren Bell was England’s most successful bowler, taking three wickets.
Mandhana's achievement places her among a select group of cricketers globally, both male and female, who have scored centuries in all three formats. This milestone is a defining moment not only for her career but also for Indian women’s cricket, inspiring future generations to aim high and overcome obstacles.
With this commanding performance, Mandhana has reaffirmed her position as a leading figure in Indian women’s cricket, showcasing consistency, fearlessness, and record-breaking ability.
